American Lobster Tails on the Grill under Old Glory this 4th of July

Don’t get me wrong, I do love a good burger on the grill, but why not live it up this 4th of July weekend. Break out the good “stuff” for friends and family. By good “stuff” I mean wild caught American lobster tails!

Below is an easy to following Florida Keys lobster grilling recipe.
6 Lobsters tails
¼ cup sherry
1 cup butter (2 sticks)
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 Lemon

Slice the hard side of the tail with a sharp knife or poultry shears. Butterfly the lobster in its shell by slitting the meat in half lengthwise, cutting to the other shell (do not cut through it).

This is where you will stand out among the rest; most people are unable to cook lobster on the grill without the bottom drying out. Here is how to cook the tails evenly without the bottom of the lobster drying out.

Sprinkle the meat with sherry. Melt the butter with garlic, then brush the meat with the butter/garlic mixture and sprinkle with lemon juice. Place on the grill with the meat side up and cover the grill, the recipe works the best if you cover the grill, so don’t forget. For those who do not have cover for the grill, put a piece of tin foil loosely over the lobster tails to trap the heat. Grill until the meat is opaque, should take about 10 minutes.

Remember you’re the captain of the boat while grilling. Which means you can play whatever music you want and don’t forget you’re cocktail (you have to stay hydrated). Happy 4th of July!

Grill & Chill,

Ryan
